Obituary for Karl Hehl

On 24 November 2010, Karl Hehl, senior partner at Arburg GmbH + Co. KG, died unexpectedly at the age of 87. Until recently he played an active role as an advisory partner for the family-run company. He used his ingenuity and foresight to make Arburg a well-known manufacturer of injection moulding technology.

Hehl served for many years as chairman of the management board. His influence as a technical specialist was decisive in shaping the business for more than six decades. Hehl was well-regarded, both on a human level and for his technical expertise. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services. In 2007, the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) awarded Karl Hehl and his brother Eugen Hehl the Business Management Award for their lifetime achievement.
