CHINA: BASF and ECUST enter MOU to develop training for Chinese chemical suppliers
The program aims to provide structured training to about 2,000 BASF suppliers in China over the next five years and will cover topics including environmental protection, health and safety, labor, governance and management, as well as human rights.
"China plays a vital role in BASF's global supplier network and we have developed a number of programs to raise sustainability awareness and action among our suppliers," explained Fried Muenstermann, president of BASF's global procurement.
"By combining our resources with ECUST, we can better support the efforts of Chinese suppliers to improve their capabilities and achieve world-class sustainability standards," he added.
