Dan Smytka to lead Goodyear Asia Pacific business

Daniel L. Smytka, 49, has been named President of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Asia Pacific business.

Smytka takes the role after successfully running the company’s Asia consumer business and subsequently leading the relocation and expansion of Goodyear’s factory in China. He succeeds Pierre Cohade, who has decided to leave the company. Prior to joining Goodyear in 2008 as Vice President of the consumer tyre business in the Asia Pacific region, Smytka worked at United Technologies Corporation. Previously, his career spanned nearly 20 years of progressively larger leadership roles with General Electric.
