Kuwahara taking over new duties at Kuraray

As of 1 May 2012 Shigenao Kuwahara, 41, has taken over responsibility for a broader range of tasks at the BU Elastomers of Kuraray Europe GmbH. In his ­position as Technical Manager, he is now responsible for the Septon and Hybrar series, the Kurarity TPEs as well as KLR Kuraray Liquid Rubber.

Kuwahara has been with the company since 1997. After completing his studies in polymer chemistry at the University of Kyoto, Japan, he was mainly involved in the development of Kuraray’s styrene block copolymers and liquid rubbers at the company’s plant in Kashima, Japan. In 2011 he joined the European Elastomers team led by Joerg Oertel and based in Hattersheim near Frankfurt, Germany.
