Saip at 1st ANPE meeting

The event, organized by ANPE - Italy’s Associazione Nazionale Poliuretano Espanso rigido, National Association of Rigid Polyurethane Foam) - focused on "Thermal Insulation and Energy Saving" (www.conferenzapoliuretano.it). The meeting branched in two parallel sections:

“Getting things done”, dedicated to news for industries, such as the evolution of polyurethanes foams and the technological aspects of production; and
“Savings”, dedicated to news for applicators and users, such as the challenges of energy efficiency, the evolution of the regulations, performance and application features.

Federico De Santi, Sales Manager, introduced Saip’s innovative approach to the insulating panel market with a specific talk on ce|de|pa (www.cedepa.org): the research and development center, located in Tudela (Spain), fully devoted to testing and prototyping activities on new solutions for the manufacturing of polyurethane-made panels, produced with the specific technology of continuous double lamination process.

ce|de|pa was designed and made by Saip in joint venture with Dow Chemical.

At ce|de|pa customers have the possibility to do production tests, simulations, to perfect their products, to train their staff members with practical experiences on the Saip-developed system, installed in ce|de|pa: a full-scale production line with a length of 130 meters, provided with

• a forming section for the realization for various profiles;
• a foaming section with multi-component metering machine;
• a double belt conveyor with working temperature up to 70° built to process panels with maximum thickness of 220 mm;
• discharge section;
• cooling and packaging panels section;
• innovative supervision system for the management and control of the entire process of production.

ce|de|pa is complete with equipment for the production of mineral wool panel, paper-paper panels  and with machines for dosing and distributing primers and glues.
It also has a specific area where to carry out tests to validate the results of new ideas and technologies. The laboratory allows to conduct the followings tests: mechanical resistance, thermal transmittance, fire behavior, resistance to fire and dimensional stability.
ce|de|pa is a structure destined to developing and testing new solutions assisted with a team of plant, raw material and production technology experts, ready to combine their expertise to provide sustainable solutions.
