ZW Hydraulik delivers record extruder

ZW Hydraulik AG located in Ruemlingen, Switzerland, recently delivered a large extruder of the Extruwell type to a customer at the East coast of the US.
In 2008, the company has introduced the first warm-feed single-barrel extruder of the Extruwell type. This 4th rubber preformer model follows the existing REV, Extrugear and SLP series and is available in three different barrel volume sizes of 14, 30 and 60 l.

On a customer’s request an Extruwell was developed and manufactured with an impressive 140 l extrusion barrel (dia­meter 254 mm). Depending on the compound and on the die assembly the maximum output can be up to 1,000 kg/h. The maximum die opening is 220 mm. The weight tolerance of the produced preforms is within ± 1 %.

The customer with its leading roll in the pharmaceutical industry has not just requested high standards regarding conformity of temperature, pressure and cycle time, all industry related standards had to be met as well.

The Swiss extruder specialist offers four models of warm or cold-feed extruders for a wide range of customer needs and requirements. Volumes range from 1 up to 140 l. The machines are said to be very reliable, they are user-friendly and allow fast die and compound changes. Low downtime because of easy maintenance and cleaning measures are additional advantages.

ZW Hydraulik develops and manufactures preformers and extrusion systems as well as hydraulic cylinders. The company claims to be the world’s only manufacturer of fully automatic rotating twin barrel extruders. Furthermore the company distributes rubber injection moulding and compression moulding machines of its partner Jing Day Machinery Industrial Co. Ltd., and laboratory and rubber analysing equipment of U-Can Dynatex Inc.
