DSM acquires majority share in UHMWPE fibre manufacturer in China
The agreement with ICD, a manufacturer of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibres, will bring complementary manufacturing and technology assets to DSM in addition to strengthening its presence in this market. DSM says China is a key market for the company and it will continue to grow its long term commitment to it. Closing of the transaction is expected in the course of 2011. Financial terms were not disclosed.
