Orion Engineered Carbons

Purex HS 20 is a furnace black with a low specific surface area and a high structure for application in hoses, profiles and rubber articles under dynamic stress. A semi-reinforcing furnace black with very low PAH content for food contact applications is Purex HS 45-RP. Under the brand name Ecorax S 247 Orion markets a high structure soft black for different tyre casing compounds to reduce rolling resistance while maintaining compound stiffness. This patent-protected carbon black is supporting developments for the upcoming European tire labelling regulations.

Orion Engineered Carbons is the former Evonik Carbon Black business. In July 2011 Evonik Industries completed the sale of this business to the investors Rhône Capital and Triton Partners. Since June 2012, the global headquarters of Orion Engineered Carbons are in Frankfurt with offices for executive management, marketing and sales, customer service, finance and controlling, and purchasing. Beside Frankfurt Orion has several other new Orion, including Shanghai, Tokyo, and São Paulo; the new Americas headquarters in Kingwood/Houston, TX.
