Allod

Allod develops and manufactures customised TPEs under the brand name Allruna. The materials are suitable for injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding, as well as other special processing technologies.

At DKT 2012 the company will inform about current projects. The main focus will be on TPEs with adhesion to rubbers like EPDM, NBR, ECO, CSM, EAM, etc., and especially the adhesion of TPS to EPDM for the production of end caps or corner mouldings for window guiding profiles. Here high adhesive strength, good sealing properties, and UV resistance, are key requirements for the material. Advantages of thermoplastic elastomers in these applications compared to rubber include short processing time, reduction of rework, manifold compounding possibilities, etc.

Other current developments at Allod include the improvement of the scratch resistance of TPS compounds, TPE materials for selective electroplating and higher temperature resistance of TPEs.

Allod Werkstoff GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 2001, is based in Burgbernheim in Southwestern Germany. The portfolio includes TPE materials with:

  • defined Shore hardness and filling grade
  • variable mechanical characteristics
  • varying resistance to temperature and media
  • certain relaxation and damping behavior depending on strain and temperature
  • defined surfaces (e.g. opal, glossy, low friction, textured, coloured)
  • very good good flowability
  • client specific qualities
  • adhesion to engineering plastics, rubber and inorganic materials like glass or metal.
